Chess player Irwanto Sadikin is closer to GM title

An international master of chess Irwanto Sadikin played in Manila (the capital of Philippines), He is a south Sumatra chess player made a position in the top six places by receiving an Elo ranking of 2419 at the latest sixth Prospero A. Pichay Junior Cup. Mr. Alsaputra who is chess coach of south Sumatra said on Saturday- All the top five players are leading Grandmasters, whereas Sadikin is the single international master among the top ten contestants.The tournament that has taken place on August 21 to 27 in Manila, there were around 47 chess players participated in which eleven contestants were grandmasters and 9 were international masters.

Anton Filippov – who is a grandmaster from Uzbekistan has scored a ranking of 2609 and won the event, whereas John Paul Gomez grandmaster of Philippines has ranked 2527 to grab the fifth place. After seeing the outcome, chess coach Alsaputra said – Irwanto Sadikin is nearer to a title of grandmaster because a chess participant requires an Elo score of 2500 or above to get a crown of a GM. He continued by saying that Irwanto need to compete more in opposition to other global players to improve his ranking further.
