Johnson Shines
DUBAI – Johnson Alexander, Director of Human Resources (HR) and Quality Health and Safety Environment (QHSE), claimed a rare double in the Dulsco Indoor Games organised by Dulsco Sport Club at DV Events Arena, a press release said.
Johnson won two titles in the table tennis tournament. He claimed the singles title defeating Paresh Karia of Waste Management Services (WMS) 11-9, 8-11, 11-8, 11-7. Johnson then clinched the doubles title partnering Mohammed Bilal Hasan (Information Technology). They beat Paresh Karia and Prakash Chugani (HR) 11-8, 9-11, 11-8.
Earlier in the semifinals, Johnson beat Bhaskaran N while Paresh upset defending champion Mohammed Bilal Hassan.
Hussain Haidar of Engineering Property Services (EPS) also claimed a double in Carrom. Haidar beat Saleem Shaikh (IT) to win the singles title and partnered Rounak Ali to beat Mohammed Bilal Hasan and Saleem Shaikh (IT) to secure the doubles title.
Earlier in the semifinals of carrom singles, Hussain defeated Mohammad Saleem (WMS) while Saleem Shaikh defeated Allauddin of (Ras Al Khaimah). In doubles semifinals Hussain/Raunak defeated M.Saleem/Amir(WMS) and Saleem Sahikh/M.Bilal defeated the Ashok G/Allauddin(Ras Al Khaimah)
Eldie C. won the chess title with a patient victory over Mohammed Kashif of Ras Al Khaimah. In the semifinals Eldie defeated Rennie of (DV Accommodation)
In the darts event, Ashok G of Ras Al Khaimah was on target to claim the crown. Shabbu Zaidi (EPS) was the runner-up. Nadeem Saif (DVAccommodation) was third while Ali Raza (Logistics) finished fourth.
